Former Test spinner Stuart MacGill has been handed an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO) by his girlfriend Julie Singleton.

Singleton took out a temporary ADVO against MacGill on Boxing Day, and the order states that he can't go within 100 metres of her place of work or her home.

The order also says MacGill can't approach or contact Singleton unless it's through her lawyer, and he is forbidden from assaulting, threatening or stalking her or damaging her property.

MacGill has been dating Singleton since 2014, after splitting up with his wife of 14 years, Rachael Friend.
