New South Wales have secured their passage to the Matador Cup preliminary final, while knocking out Western Australia in the process.

Fast bowler Doug Bollinger ripped through the Warriors' batting line-up, finishing with 3-26 from eight overs, as the Blues bowled WA out for just 207 runs at North Sydney Oval.

Adam Voges top scored with 62, while Cameron Bancroft scored 56.

In response, NSW reached the target with eight wickets in hand and eight overs to spare.

Daniel Hughes top scored in a stellar knock, but fell agonizingly short of a century, dismissed for 96 off 106 balls. Ed Cowan was the only other batsman sent back to the pavilion, scoring 66, while Nick Maddinson (24) and Moises Henriques (11) both finished not out.

In the other match on Wednesday, Tasmania defeated South Australia by 28 runs.

Tasmania scored 7-295 from their 50 overs, with Alex Doolan top scoring with 79, before they dismissed South Australia for 267 in the 39th over.
