According to reports, Pakistan vice-captain and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed is set to fly home from Australia in the coming days to be with his ill mother.

ESPNcricinfo has reported that Sarfraz will return home to Pakistan after his mother was admitted to intensive care at a hospital in Karachi.

Sarfraz was at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Tuesday for his side's warm-up one-day match against the Cricket Australia XI, but the gloveman did not play in the match.

The new comes just days after towering fast bowler Mohammad Irfan left the squad to return home to be with his family after the death of his mother.

Junaid Khan replaced Irfan in the ODI squad.
