A member of the media at the Adelaide Oval for the second Ashes Test has returned a positive Covid test.

This has caused fellow media personnel covering the Test to remain at their hotels awaiting further instruction on what the day will look like for those who have been working at the Adelaide Oval.

The media personnel is believed to be a part of the travelling English media and interviewed English batsmen Dawid Malan.

Thankfully the interview was conducted with a mask on meaning Malan is in the clear.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the employee works for the BBC. The report goes on to state that commentators have been told to remain at their hotels for now as the situation is investigated.

The media space, which is shared by broadcast, print and digital outlets is being cleaned and sanitized for a possible return of media before day 4 commences.

It is the second Covid incident to impact the popular Test match with Australian skipper Pat Cummins forced to withdraw from the morning of day 1 due to being a close contact of a positive case in an Adelaide restaurant on the eve of the Test match.

Cricket Australia are yet to comment.
