Aussie all-rounder Cameron Green already has his eye on the ODI World Cup in 2023 after being part of the action at this year's T20 World Cup.

Green has established himself as a vital member of the Australian Test squad and is also making a compelling case for ODI and T20 positions.

When Josh Inglis broke his hand in a bizarre golfing accident, the 23-year-old got a last-minute call-up for the T20 World Cup.

"I don't feel a part of all three teams yet. I still think I'm on the margins of a couple."Green stated at the Youth Focus event in Perth.

"If you speak to most people, (the priority) is Test cricket."

"That's what we pencil in at the start of the year, we're looking forward to, and that's what we prioritise."

"Then there's an (ODI) World Cup in India that's coming up next year, so you've got to cast your eye there."

Green could only participate in one game, Afghanistan's close four-run victory over Australia. After that, Australia was eliminated. However, Green may get a chance to permanently stick in the T20 team if Aaron Finch retires, as predicted.

Green felt the T20 World Cup experience was invaluable, even though he only played once there.

Being called in late made everything seem to happen quickly, according to Green.

The West Indies and the US will host the following T20 World Cup in 2024.

With 12 ODIs under his belt and an average of 54, Green hopes to be selected for the World Cup in India in 2023.

But he knows he still has a lot of work to guarantee a spot in all three forms.

Since Green has a history of back problems, he knows that representing Australia in every match in every format is not feasible.

But he believes that taking things slowly will help him establish himself as a regular in all three formats.

"We've got four Tests in India, an ODI series there, and then we've got a World Cup after that," he said.

"I think we must look at the schedule and decide from there."
