Australian pair Joe Mennie and Chris Tremain now hold the unenviable records of having the two worst figures in one-day international debut by Australians.

Mennie was smacked to all parts by the South African bastman, finishing with figures of 0-82 off 10 overs, as the Proteas claimed a thumping 142-run win.

Mennie's figures overtook the previous worst by an Aussie on debut, which was Steve Smith's 2-78 against the West Indies back in 2010.

Fellow debutant Chris Tremain equalled Smith's record, conceding 78 runs and taking one wicket.

Mennie's figures are also the sixth worst by a debutant in ODI history. Irishman Peter Connell holds the record with figures of 0-95 against New Zealand back in 2008.
