Australia's postponed Test series against South Africa has been confirmed for August 2023.
The three-Test series was originally set for March last year before both nations were forced to cancel the proceedings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After searching for the prime window to reschedule the series, the CSA has confirmed that South Africa will host Australia next year, with the two nations set to clash for the first time since 2018 - a series made infamous by the touring nation's ball-tampering tactics.
Speaking during the recent Cape Town Test between South Africa and India, CSA director Graeme Smith revealed that the Proteas are set to host both Australia and England in the coming 24 months.
"England, I think, is around Feb-March next year and then Australia is in August 2023 to replace the [Test series postponed in 2021]. That will be announced sometime soon," Smith told SuperSport.
"With series lost in Covid and the challenge is you have eight white-ball events in eight years now, you have got IPL extending - trying to fit your calendar cycle in is a great challenge for everybody. So you need to review, you need to stay with the times. And you need to make sure we keep putting South African cricket on the map.
"Our team - both men and women - needs to be performing well and be recognised and people want to play us. But we need to make sure when things are happening in world cricket South Africa is at the forefront."
South Africa claimed the most recent series against Australia 3-1, taking out the opening three matches of the four-Test series before Australia landed a victory in Durban.
Australia are currently placed second on the ICC World Test Championship table with 40 points at a percentage of 83.33 ahead of their fifth and final Test against England this summer.
South Africa are two places behind Australia with 24 points and a percentage of 66.66 following their 2-1 series victory over India.
