Australia have confirmed a busy summer of cricket ahead, with six nations to tour on top of the T20 World Cup.

The impacts of COVID over the past two years have left Australia with plenty of catch up ODI series to play, and it means the summer will get underway in late August with a three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.

Those matches will be played in Townsville, before attention shifts to Cairns for a postponed three-match ODI series against New Zealand.

Those matches come hot on the heels of a tour to Sri Lanka, and a scheduled white ball tour of India, although dates for the Indian tour are yet to be confirmed.

More white ball cricket follows the two ODI series, with T20 matches to be played against the West Indies and England leading into the T20 World Cup on home soil.

Another white ball series follows against England, this time in the 50-over format, with Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne to host.

After 9 ODIs, 5 T20s and a World Cup, red ball cricket will finally be introduced with the West Indies to play two Test matches, the first of those in Perth, and the second in Adelaide under lights.

Both matches will be beamed into the east coast at prime time, although a third match in the series has cost Hobart (who only host a single ODI all summer) or Canberra, the chance to host a Test match this season.

The crown jewel of the summer will be a three-Test series against South Africa, which will see Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney play host, before the Proteas stick around for a trio of ODI matches in January.

Due to a women's tour to India in December, it's a short home summer for the Australian side, who will play host to Pakistan in three ODIs, and three T20s during January.
