Australian international Tim David has been signed to replace Liam Livingstone in the SA20 for the remainder of the season.
David is coming straight out of the 2022-23 Big Bash League season where he couldn't get the Hobart Hurricanes into the finals series.
Although, David had an outstanding season. He scored a BBL career-high 354 runs in the season, averaging 39.33 runs a game. At the end of the regular season, he finished with the second-most sixes only behind Steve Smith.
Coming into the game mainly in the middle-late overs, David had an impeccable strike rate of 160.91. Known for his batting, his bowling was used more this season. Either bowling at the start or end of an inning, he had an economy rate of 8.54.
His career statistics include 3261 runs in 152 T20 matches and has appeared in the T20 uniform for both Australia and Singapore, having debuted for Australia in the shortest form of the game during 2022.
David will be looking to turn around Cape Town's losing woes. They currently place fifth on the ladder with three wins out of seven games.
The 26-year-old, who was born in Singapore, is fast becoming an experienced stakeholder in the shortest form of the game, but will need to keep up form if he hopes to remain part of the Australian set-up heading to the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and United States of America.
