Cricket Australia has made their official player contract offers for the 2017-18 season.

There were some big name omissions, while other players made the list for the first time in their career.

Across both males and females, a total off 33 players were offered contracts by CA.

Peter Siddle, Peter Nevill, John Hastings, Shaun Marsh, and George Bailey were just some of the names who did not make the cut.

Perhaps the biggest omission was short form star James Faulkner. "The Finisher" seems to be on the wrong side of CA, after he was also left out of the 15-man Champions trophy side.

Inclusions to the list were Matthew Renshaw, Peter Handscomb, and Billy Stanklake, amongst others.

There were fewer surprises on the women's side of the list. The likes of Alex Blackwell, Alyssa Healy, Meg Lanning, and Ellyse Perry, were all offered contracts.

18-year old Lauren Cheatle earned herself a spot next to the biggest names in the game. An incredible achievement for the teenager from New South Wales.

Players not on the list are still able to earn a CA contract. If they play a certain number of international games in the time period, they can get enough upgrade points to earn a spot on the list.
