The injury cloud hanging over the head of captain Aaron Finch and middle-order batsman Tim David will create a headache for the selection committee, with the pair nursing hamstring injuries sustained in Monday night's win over Ireland.

With Marcus Stoinis adding to concerns battling a similar injury late in the piece at the Gabba, George Bailey, chair of selectors, wavered any doubt describing the all-rounder as "good to go" for Friday's do-or-die clash against Afghanistan.

After travelling back from Brisbane, Bailey told the press "they're working through what they normally would after coming off a flight anyway," with limited numbers competing in a full training session.

A decision on their availability will be made later today as both Finch and David were put through their paces in a light capacity for 20 minutes at Karen Rolton Oval with neither seemingly troubled with the duties.

"It's nice to have the extra day for them to be able to recover and get a bit of work in, and we'll keep assessing them over the next 48 hours," Bailey said.

"The fact they're out there moving, always after a travel day it's going to be pretty light anyway, but to see them out and moving and getting up to moderate speed is pretty good.

"I don't think the time frame (on making a call on their availability) will be different to any other game.

"We'll probably get together tomorrow post-training and work through that."

Adelaide Oval will play host to the final Super 12's match on Friday night, where calculators will be required as net run rate is expected to play a huge role in the home side's chances of defending their crown.
