Darren Lehmann has taken aim at Kevin Pietersen following the Melbourne Stars capitulation last night.

The Australian Coach believes the Stars need to move on the English batsmen after he managed just five runs from 10 balls against the Scorchers last night.

Pietersen, who is still contracted with the Stars for next season, is believed to be on a deal worth $200,000, it also includes TV commentary and promotional work.

The 36-year-old has scored 268 runs this season at an average of 38.19. He has been the Stars top run scorer for the past three seasons.

Stars chairman of selectors Damien Fleming defended his contribution during his commentary last night.

“He does a lot of marketing, a lot of promotion. Up until now the Melbourne Stars are very happy with the way he has contributed,” he said.
