Northern Territory cricketers and fans alike are preparing themselves to watch NT sport's biggest ever signing in the Strike League in Darwin this weekend.

Warner, a global superstar in cricket, is expected to pad up at the Marrara Cricket Ground.

The batsman will play for the City Cyclones in two games in the Strike League on Saturday and Sunday.

As revealed by the NT News, the 31-year-old has agreed to play in the second addition of the shorter format competition after he was suspended for 12 months by Cricket Australia, for ball-tampering in South Africa back in March.

He arrived (Thursday) and we had a catch-up,” NT Cricket’s senior manager of pathways, Mark Sorell, said.

“He’s really looking forward to it, and we’re looking forward to having him around.

“It’ll be nice to have him here enjoying himself.”
