Australian opener David Warner has been rewarded for his phenomenal year, winning the 2017 Allan Border Medal.

The Aussie vice-captain won his second consecutive AB Medal with 269 votes, ahead of skipper Steve Smith (248) and fast bowler Mitchell Starc (197).

He is the fourth player to be named Australia's best cricketer more than once, joining Ricky Ponting (2004-07 and 2009), Michael Clarke (2005, 2009 and 2012-13) and Shane Watson (2010-11) as the only other players to do so.

Warner also won the ODI player of the year, while Starc took out the Test player of the year and the now retired Shane Watson won the international Twenty20 player of the year.

Meanwhile, Hilton Cartwright, who made his Test debut this summer, was named the Bradman young cricketer of the year.
