Victoria experienced flash flooding around parts of the state on Thursday, resulting in day four of the Boxing Day Test being abandoned after Australia had added 187 runs to their overnight score.
Resuming on 2-278, Australia finished day four on 6-465, with a lead of 22 runs. Steve Smith notched his 17th Test ton, while Usman Khawaja fell agonizingly short of his century, caught at first slip for 97, adding just two runs to his overnight score.
Victorian Peter Handscomb continued his great start to Test cricket, hitting 54, while Nic Maddinson and Matthew Wade again both failed with the bat, scoring 22 and nine respectively.
At stumps, Smith is unbeaten on 100, while Mitchell Starc is not out on seven.
Australia will look to get quick runs to establish a lead, before attempting to bowl Pakistan out for an unlikely result. However, as has been the case for the past four days, the weather will once again most likely put a dampener on those plans.
