The England Cricket Board has suspended and fined batsman Ben Duckett "the maximum allowable amount for an England Lions player" after he poured a drink on the head on fast bowler James Anderson on a night out in Perth.

Duckett is also on a final warning from the ECB following his drunken indiscretion, as his career now hangs in the balance.

He was fined $2,700 and banned from playing in the England Lions remaining matches on their Australian tour.

Duckett was due to play in a tour game for England against a Cricket Australia XI before the incident.

The incident occurred at the same bar as Jonny Bairstow's now infamous headbutt on Australian opener Cameron Bancroft.

The 23-year-old has played four tests for England and was also convicted of drink-driving in 2015.
