England has named its squad for the upcoming Ashes series in Australia and despite being arrested earlier in the week for a late night fight outside a bar, vice-captain Ben Stokes has held his spot in the team.

The incident left Stokes with a fractured hand and another man hospitalised with facial injuries, as the England Cricket Board and the Police investigate.

Stokes' injury is minor and will not keep him out of the first Ashes Test at the Gabba beginning on November 23.

Meanwhile, three uncapped players have been named in the squad, in wicketkeeper Ben Foakes, fast bowler Craig Overton and leg spinner Mason Crane.

ENGLAND SQUAD: Joe Root (capt), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Jake Ball, Gary Balance, Stuart Broad, Alastair Cook, Mason Crane, Ben Foakes, Dawid Malan, Craig Overton, Ben Stokes, Mark Stoneman, James Vince, Chris Woakes
