England assistant coach Graham Thorpe is reportedly facing the chopping block after further details of Australia and England's early morning drinking session in Hobart have been revealed.

Footage revealed on Tuesday of police requesting Australian trio Nathan Lyon, Travis Head and Alex Carey, as well as English pair Joe Root and James Anderson, to leave the Crowne Plaza terrace in the early hours of the morning following a noise complaint.

The footage in question is now understood to have been filmed by Thorpe, who was also in hot water at the hotel for smoking a cigar inside, according to Sportsmail UK.

It is now understood that Thorpe refused to put out his lit cigar, prompting police to be called to the Hobart hotel.

The England coach is now facing the likelihood of being sacked, with the ECB having already apologised for the footage that emerged of Root and Anderson drinking with Australian players following their horror Ashes summer.

"During the early hours of Monday morning, members of the England and Australia men's teams shared a drink in the team areas of the hotel in Hobart," an ECB spokesperson said.

"The hotel management received a noise complaint by a hotel guest, and as is commonplace in Australia, the local police attended the scene. When asked to leave by hotel management and the Tasmanian police, the players and management in question left and returned to their respective hotel rooms. The England party have apologised for any inconvenience caused.

"The ECB will investigate further. Until such times, we will make no further comment."

The ECB were further enraged to become aware that Thrope was the one behind the camera and allowed the video in question to reach social media.

Both England and Australia players were residing at the Crowne Plaza during the fifth Ashes Test at Bellerive Oval, where they initially began their post-series celebrations.
