England have won the Women's World Cup final following a stunning collapse from India at Lord's overnight.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, England scored 7-228 from 50 overs. Natalie Sciver top scored with 51, while Sarah Taylor hit 45.

In reply, India looked on track to claim a maiden Women's World Cup triumph, cruising at 3-191 in the 43rd over, before losing seven wickets for just 27 runs, to be bowled all out for 219.

Anya Shrubsole took five wickets for 11 runs in 19 deliveries, to finish with figures of 6-46 and player of the match honours.

Poonam Raut (86) and Harmanpreet Kauur (51) did the bulk of the damage for India, before the incredible collapse.

“It was just an unbelievable game, we looked for a minute like we were out of it, but one of the great things about this team, we never give up," hero Shrubsole said post-match.

“We knew if we got a couple we’d be right in the game and all was well in the end.”

Shrubsole's figures were the first five-wicket haul by any bowler in a Women's World Cup final.
