The T20 World Cup is on the way, with Australia to host the 2022 edition in October and November.

The first round of fixtures will get underway from October 16, with the Super 12 - where all of the automatically qualified teams begin their campaign - will kick off less than a week later from October 22.

The final is scheduled to be held in Melbourne on November 13.

The Super 12 stage is made up of two groups of six, with four teams in each group already qualified.

The two remaining spots in each group will be filled by the top two teams out of each group in the first round, which features Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Scotland, the West Indies and Zimbabwe.

Teams have now begun to name their squads, and you'll see them all here on Zero Wicket as they are confirmed.

Simply use the drop down menu below to navigate between each nation.

Afghanistan

Group: Super 12, Group 1

Afghanistan have made a handful of changes from their recent Asia Cup outing, with all of Samiullah Shinwari, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afsar Zazai, Karim Janat and Noor Ahmad missing from the 15-man group for the World Cup.

Qais Ahmad, who is familiar with Australian conditions having played in the Big Bash League, will headline the additions alongside Darwish Rasooli and Salim Safi.

Ahmad will be joined in the spin engine room by Rashid Khan, who has also spent plenty of time playing in Australia, while Mohammad Nabi captains the squad.

Afghanistan squad

Australia

Group: Super 12, Group 1

Australia were the first nation to confirm their squad for the tournament, with few changes for the defending champions from the team who took home the trophy in the United Arab Emirates last year.

Aaron Finch, who is under enormous pressure thanks to a lack of runs, retains his place in the side, but it's the inclusion of Tim David which could become the talk of the tournament.

Previously playing for Singapore, his swashbuckling batting for the Hobart Hurricanes and around the world in the shortest format of the game could see him debut in Australian colours despite the fact he has never played a first class game. He would become the first to do so since David Warner.

The squad is also all-rounder heavy, with Ashton Agar, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis all selected once again.

Bangladesh

Group: Super 12, Group 2

Bangladesh have made big changes from the Asia Cup, who didn't win a game during the tournament.

While star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will once again captain the team in conditions which are unlikely to suit the Tigers, all of Parvez Hossain Emon, Anamul Haque and Mohammad Naim have missed the squad for the World Cup, while Mushfiqur Rahim has retired and Mahmud Ullah has also been dropped.

In their place, Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Hasan Mahmud and Najmul Hossain Shanto have all made the cut for the tournament, while Soumya Sarkar, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan are the reserves.

Bangladesh squad

Reserves: Soumya Sarkar, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Shak Mahedi Hasan

England

Group: Super 12, Group 1

England have confirmed some surprises in their squad for the World Cup, to go with a mega injury blow.

While Jason Roy's absence - replaced by Phil Salt - came as something of a surprise given Roy's overall success both in the format, and in scoring runs in Australia during his various stints in the Big Bash League, it's Jonny Bairstow's injury which impacts England the most.

The big-hitting batsman hurt himself leading up to the tournament and won't feature.

This will also be Jos Buttler's first time captaining England in a global tournament, while other experienced players Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Ben Stones, David Willey, Chris Woakes and Alex Hales headline the squad.

England have also picked three travelling reserves.

Jos Buttler (c), Moeen Ali, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Alex Hales.

Reserves: Liam Dawson, Richard Gleeson, Tymal Mills.

India

Group: Super 12, Group 2

India have confirmed the loss of Ravindra Jadeja for the T20 World Cup in what will be a big blow to their chances. Jadeja picked up an all-rounder during the Asia Cup, which was held recently in the United Arab Emirates.

They do, however, welcome back Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, with both players having missed the Asia Cup with injuries.

India are otherwise close to full strength, with Mohammad Shami being relegated to the role of a replacement player outside of a squad which features three spin-bowling options in Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel and a batting line up with the likes of captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant.

Ireland

Group: First Round, Group B

Ireland have confirmed a strong squad for the T20 World Cup, with the nation needing to qualify out of the first round against Scotland, Zimbabwe and the West Indies, with two teams to go through to the Super 12 round.

Andrew Balbirnie will continue to captain the Irish team after Kevin O'Brien announced his retirement.

Paul Stirling and George Dockrell will join Stirling as the experienced players of the team, while a host of in-form talent has also been included.

Namibia

Group: First Round, Group A

The African nation will be bringing a comparatively experienced unit to Australian shores, led by skipper Gerhard Erasmus.

Though plenty of seasoned individuals will be representing the Eagles at the white-ball tournament, a smattering of youth can be found within the squad as well.

JJ Smit, Stephen Baard, Jan Frylinck, Nicol Loftie Eaton, Ruben Trumpelmann and David Wiese have all returned from Namibia's 2021 roster, with Lohan Louwrens, Divan la Cock and Tangeni Lungameni all called up for potential debuts.

Netherlands

Group: First Round, Group A
The Netherlands are the first team who have confirmed their squad from those not already into the Super 12 round.

The familiar name to Australian audiences will be Tom Cooper, who has previously played domestically for the South Australian Redbacks and was on the verge of Australian selection at one point in his career, having been born in Lismore.

The squad will be captained by Scott Edwards, with the Netherlands viewed as a strong chance to finish in the top two of their group and progress to the tournament proper against Namibia, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.

New Zealand have confirmed that Martin Guptill will take part in his seventh T20 World Cup - a record for any player in any format.

Kane Williamson's side will also feature Trent Boult and Jimmy Neesham, who have turned up central contracts, while Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell will be included for their first tournaments with the New Zealand side.

Lockie Ferguson has been included as well alongside his injury replacement Devon Conway from last year's tournament, while other usual stars Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi and Tim Southee are all included in a strong squad.

The pace bowler missed the recent Asia Cup after being sidelined with a knee injury, however, he will be able to return alongside Shan Masoon and Haider Ali, who have both been recalled to the squad.

Scotland

South Africa

Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas' charge into the 2022 tournament, with the South Africans looking to make up for a poor showing in the last edition of the shortest format's World Cup.

Quinton de Kock will once again come in as one of the nation's most experienced players, but there is plenty of talent to go around.

The likes of David Miller, Reeza Hendricks, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, Wayne Parnell and Kagiso Rabada have all made the cut for the squad which will travel to Australia.

South Africa have also picked three reserves to travel.

Both players missed a recent three-match ODI series against Australia, where a famous win was recorded against the hosts in the third clash.
