Cricketing fans will be offered round the clock coverage of March’s ICC Women’s World Cup following Fox Sports’ announcement that the broadcaster would be beaming the event via a dedicated channel.
While these same supporters will be afforded the ability to watch each game of the showpiece tournament live and free on streaming service Kayo, an ability to stay up to date with the contests in New Zealand has been made simpler due to the channel operating 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week.
The broadcaster’s commitment to Women’s game comes after rival channel Nine announced in January that they would not be showing action from the eight-team tournament.
Fox Cricket’s General Manager, Matt Weiss heralded the devoted channel by claiming it would “give this event the coverage it deserves and fuelling the hunger for more cricket from our growing audiences.”
Fox’s coverage is set to commence on March 4, a move in line with the competition host’s, New Zealand, opener against the West Indies at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
Australia is scheduled to face each of England, Pakistan, New Zealand, the Windies, India, South Africa and Bangladesh respectively ahead of the knockout stages set to start on March 30.
The final is currently scheduled to take place at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval on Sunday, April 3, with the first ball to be delivered at 1:00pm local time.
