26-year-old Matthew Kuhnemann is having the time of his life when it comes to his cricket career.

After making his ODI debut for Australia in 2022, the left-arm off-spinner saw his name feature in the Australian Test squad for the recently concluded Border Gavaskar series.

While the series ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Aussies, Kuhnemann benefitted from it by gaining experience and talking to Indian spin maestro Ravindra Jadeja.

Having promised to share his knowledge with Kuhnemman after the second Test, Ravindra Jadeja stayed true to his words. He spoke to the young Aussie after the fourth Test match between India and Australia ended in a draw.

A self-confessed fan of Jadeja, Kuhnemman seemed ecstatic about speaking with the Indian.

"It was probably about 15 minutes, he (Jadeja) was just giving me some awesome tips; we talked about everything." he told

Crediting Nathan Lyon for organizing the chat, Kuhnemann mentioned that Ravindra Jadeja was impressed with three Australian players during the series. "He (Jadeja) was really impressed with Todd (Murphy), 'Gaz' (Lyon), and myself so that was really cool to hear that from him," said the 26-year-old Aussie spinner.

Matthew Kuhnemann further described his interaction with Jadeja and also spoke of how speaking with the Indian will help him level up his game the next time he plays in the sub-continent.

"He gave me some good tips for the next time we're in the subcontinent and some tips to go back home with as well. He was really nice and just said any time to reach out, and even sent me a message on Instagram, so that was pretty cool," he said.

Despite losing the series, Australia's tour of India will be memorable for Matthew Kuhnemann. Not only did he make his test debut in India, but Kuhnemann also took a five-for in the third Test.

Along with such a remarkable performance, the 26-year-old's interaction with Ravindra Jadeja serves as icing on the cake.
