Australia has played it safe ahead of their final warm-up match for the Champions Trophy, ruling out Victorian Glenn Maxwell.

The all-rounder suffered a bruised knee against Sri Lanka on Friday. In that game, he didn't bowl and was dismissed for a duck.

However, Maxwell is expected to be fully fit to play against New Zealand on Friday in Australia's first game of the Champions Trophy. There are concerns about needing time at the wicket, however, it is likely he will be in the starting XI.

Australia's final warm-up game will be played against Pakistan. After winning their last game, both sides will be look to continue on with their current wave of form in the lead up to the tournament.
