The Brisbane Heat have signed highly rated Pakisitani spinner, Shadab Khan for the 2017/8 Big Bash season.

The 18-year-old legspinner's star has risen quickly this year, playing an important role for Pakistan in the Champions Trophy earlier this year, as well as earning back-to-back man of the match awards in his first two international Twenty20 matches.

He has also taken 10 wickets in six matches so far in the Caribbean Premier League with an economy rate of six.

"He is one of the most dynamic young spinners in the game and will fit nicely into the style of play that we want to employ this summer,'' Heat head coach Daniel Vettori said.
"I know Brendon (McCullum) has been highly impressed with him as a teammate in the CPL and we're looking forward to working with him when he arrives.

"As well as his ability with the ball, he's got some good skills with the bat and is handy in the field."

Shadab is the side's second international signing and with his signature comes the departure of West Indian spinner Samuel Badree.
