Mr Cricket has laughed off talks of a possible comeback after a brilliant knock in last night's win over the Sydney Sixes.

Hussey blasted an unbeaten 80 off just 59 balls as the Sydney Thunder defeated the Sixes by 36 runs in game one of BBL05.

But the 40-year-old laughed off suggestions he should make a comeback to international cricket.

"No I wouldn’t have thought so," Hussey said with a laugh when asked about playing for Australia again when he begins his role as a consultant with the national team for the World T20.

"I’m happy to try and help out as much as I can off the field.

"We’ve got so much talent in this country and I’m excited to be working with the Australian team.

"It’s the one trophy we don’t have in the cabinet, so there’s a lot of motivation for the team.

"Everyone I talk to around Cricket Australia, it’s the one they really want. If I can help out in some small way, I’d be ecstatic."

The Thunder next face the Melbourne Stars at the MCG on Sunday night.
