The International Cricket Council has made a decision that is sure to please bowlers around the world.

From October 1, bowlers will have an extra half a stump to work with on each side of the wicket when reviewing not-out lbw calls.

Under the rule change, for a not out lbw call to be overturned, half of the ball needs to be predicted to be hitting a zone bordering the outside of the off and leg stumps and the bottom of the bails.

Under the current rules, the zone a ball has to hit only goes from the middle of the off-stump to the middle of leg-stump below the bottom of the bails.

Australia and South Africa will be the first two sides to play under these conditions when they face-off in a one-day series in September-October.
