Steve Smith and Rising Pune have booked their spot in the IPL grand final, knocking off Mumbai by 20 runs.

Smith lost the toss and his side were sent into bat. The Supergiants innings did not start off well, they lost both Tripathi, and the Australian captain before the end of the second over.

Manoj Tiwary (58 off 48), and Ajinkya Rahane (56 off 43) steadied the ship, and put on a solid 80-run partneship. MS Dhoni then came in and blasted a quickfire 40 runs, to get Rising Pune to a total of 4/162 off their 20 overs.

Lasith Malinga was the best of the bowlers, taking 1/14 off three overs.

Mumbai's innings started off a lot better. Parthiv Patel, and Lendl Simmons put on 35 before the latter was run out.

This then began a steady flow of wickets. They lost 9/107 before their 20 overs were up. They ended up being 20 runs short of the Supergiants totals. Patel was the lone shining light with the bat, scoring 52 runs off 40 balls.

Washington Sundar was chief destroyer for Rising Pune, finishing with figures of 3/16 off his four overs. Australians Adam Zampa (0/9 off one over), and Dan Christian (0/33 off four overs), both had little impact with the ball.

Mumbai are not eliminated yet, and will have another opportunity to make the grand final.

David Warner's quest of leading Hyderabad to back-to-back titles has ended, going down to Kolkata in a rain affected game.

The Australian vice-captain lost the toss, and his side were sent into bat. The Sunrisers threatened to explode however never did so, limping to a total of 128 off their 20 overs. Warner was the best of the batsmen, scoring 37 before being bowled by Piyush Chawla.

Australian Nathan Coulter-Nile led the Kolkata attack, taking man-of-the-match winning figures of 3/20 off four overs.

The rain began to pour down during the innings break, causing the umpires to delay the start of the Knight Riders chase. When it finally cleared, they would require 48 from just six overs.

Chris Lynn was round for good time , not a long time. He blasted a six off the second ball of the innings, before being removed the very next delivery. Yusuf Pathan was then run out, and Kolkata were placed dangerously at 2/7 off just four balls.

The first legal delivery of the second over saw another wicket fall, Chris Jordan removing Robin Uthappa. At 3/12 the Knight Riders were in genuine strife.

However, a quickfire and unbeaten 32 off just 19 balls from Gautam Gambhir made sure that they would get over the line.

Hyderabad are now eliminated from the tournament. Kolkata will play Mumbai, with the winner to face Rising Pune in the grand final.
