The Adelaide Strikers have signed New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi after all-rounder Chris Jordan suffered a hamstring injury in their match against the Hurricanes last week.

"Jordan has a left hamstring strain which occurred during the Hurricanes match," said Sports Science and Sports Medicine Manager John Porter.

"We are working with the England cricket team support staff to manage Jordan's fitness to ensure that he will be fit for their T20 series against India beginning January 26."

Jordan's replacement has some recent T20 experience under his belt, after taking 3-36 against Bangladesh in the second T20I of the three-match series, while also claiming figures of 2-22 in the second game.

Under BBL rules relating to replacement players, Sodhi must either play or be in the squad for Adelaide's match against the Melbourne Stars on Tuesday night.
