India walked away winners in a rain-affected Super 12's matchup against Bangladesh that came down to the wire in dramatic circumstances, with Duckworth Lewis playing a pivotal part late in the proceedings.

Nural Hasan fronted the media post-game where he outed Indian star Virat Kohli, accusing him of 'fake fielding' during their batting innings where he actioned a throwing motion attempting to fool batsman Lindon Das.

"We all saw that it was a wet ground... eventually, when we talk about these things, there was also a fake throw. It could have been a five-run penalty. That also could have gone our way, but unfortunately, even that didn't materialise," Hasan said.

The incident in question occurred in the seventh over with Arshdeep Singh boundary riding to collect a ball at deep point where replays show Kohli simultaneously pretending to  gesture a relay throw standing further in field.

Under the laws of cricket regarding unfair play the "deliberate distraction, deception or obstruction of [the] batter" is prohibited and results in a 5-run penalty if the rule is deemed to be breached.

On-field umpires at he time, Marius Erasmus and Chris Brown, both were oblivious to Kohli feigning a shy at the stumps, with the ex-Indian captain thankful to not cost his team in a tight tussle.

The controversy flooding social media is magnified by the fact the Tigers lost by five runs in the end to rub salt into the wound for Shakib Al Hasan's men that now seemingly sways them out of T20 contention.

Bangladesh will be searching for revenge when face Pakistan on Sunday, November 6, with their World Cup dream now in the hands of other results needing to go their way to remain alive.
