Amazon's The Test will return for another season, with the Australian cricket team opening the doors of its inner sanctum to the cameras once again.

Season 1, which was a major success and gave fans an unprecedented level of fans inside the Australian cricket team set up, saw Langer and former captain Tim Paine reshape the team.

Season 2, which Amazon released a sneak peak for on Wednesday afternoon, will take viewers on the journey as Pat Cummins took over the captaincy, and Justin Langer fell by the wayside as coach.

Cricket Australia have confirmed Langer declined an invitation to be involved in the series, instead wanting the documentary series to focus on the players, who reportedly fell out with the former Australian opening batsman over his style as coach before he was ultimately let go.

Langer's manager James Henderson told News Corp that it was an 'easy decision' to not be involved.

“We understood that this documentary was very much about the players and their stories,” Henderson said.

“On that basis, it was an easy decision for Justin to respect that and not be involved.”

The sneak preview of the new season of the Test, which is set to launch in 2023 and focus on the most recent home summer as Australia claimed the Ashes against England, as well as an away trip to Pakistan and Sri Lanka, sees plenty of tension inside the dressing room during the away trip to Pakistan, with Travis Head hurling his bat across the room at one point.

It's understood the series will run over four episodes.
