Mitch Marsh has finally declared he is fit to bowl again after battling an ankle injury over the last two months.

Marsh picked up the injury in the summer-opening three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe in Townsville, ruling him out of a series against New Zealand in Cairns the following week, as well as a T20 trip to India in September.

He returned against the West Indies and England in the final lead-up matches to the T20 World Cup, but as a specialist batsman.

He played the role again for the tournament hosts during their calamitous start to the World Cup on Saturday in Sydney, with New Zealand dishing out an 89-run thumping in an act of revenge for last year's final result in the United Arab Emirates.

Aaron Finch has flagged that Australia will make no major changes for their second game of the tournament in Perth on Tuesday evening against Sri Lanka.

The Australian captain could have been under the pump to change things up after Australia failed with both bat and ball, but instead will likely stick to the status quo, however, will have Marsh available to bowl on his home ground in Perth, where a big crowd is expected to welcome the Australian side.

"I'm available to bowl. I love preparing as an allrounder and making sure I'm in the game the whole time," Marsh told reporters in Perth on Monday.

Marsh said he believes him bowling will give Australia extra flexibility in the field, although the hosts didn't use anymore than five bowlers in their opening loss, with Glenn Maxwell going unused.

"I think with me bowling, it gives us that added flexibility of myself, Maxi or Stoin can get four overs out. And we can bowl anywhere," Marsh said.

Australia's game starts at 10pm (AEDT) on Tuesday evening.
