Captain Glenn Maxwell hit a quickfire 47 from just 21 balls overnight, as his Kings XI Punjab smashed 3-230 overnight, the ninth highest score in IPL history.

New Zealand's Martin Guptill hit 36 from 18 balls, while Shaun Marsh chimed in with 25 from 16, but it was Wriddhiman Saha who stole the show, blasting an unbeaten 93 from just 55 balls.

Saha hit 11 fours and three sixes in his incredible knock.

In the end, despite what looked an easy total to defender, the Kings XI only managed to record a seven-run win, with the Mumbai Indians almost pulled off an incredible run chase.

Lendl Simmons top scored with 59, while Kieron Pollard (50) and Parthiv Patel (38) also made valuable contributions, but it wasn't enough as Mumbai reached 6-223 off their 20 overs. Maxwell claimed 1-8 off two overs with the ball.

The Kings XI Punjab kept their finals hopes alive with the win and sit in fifth place, while the Mumbai Indians remain on top of the table despite the loss.
