New Zealand and Pakistan have confirmed their teams for the first semi-final at the T20 World Cup, with New Zealand winning the toss and electing to bat first at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Unsurprisingly, neither team have made any changes for the first semi-final of the tournament, with the Black Caps backing the side who decimated Australia to begin the tournament, and, with the exception of a slip up against England and washout against Afghanistan, have been faultless.

Pakistan, on the other hand, have finished the tournament at a million miles per hour after a slow start, and while captain Babar Azam has been in poor form throughout, he was never going to be axed for the knockout rounds of the tournament.

A fearsome pace attack will lead the way for the men from the sub-continent, while Shadab Khan has quickly become one of the best spinners in world cricket, while New Zealand will look to be aggressive from the outset with both bat and ball on the back of Finn Allen and Trent Boult respectively.

Speaking after the toss, Williamson commented that it was a used surface, so wanted to bat first.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam suggested he also would have batted first if he won the toss.

A big crowd is expected for the first semi-final in Sydney, with play to commence at 7pm (AEDT).
