Sixers all-rounder Dan Christian has comically put out a call for anyone keen to strut their stuff for the Sydney franchise in Friday night's Big Bash Final, with the squad currently battling health and fitness issues.

The Sixers booked their place in the season decider following their thrilling Wednesday night victory over the Adelaide Strikers.

Having entered the week as heavily-fancied favourites, the Sixers' hopes were batted by a string of COVID cases and injuries.

Star opener and keeper Josh Philippe, as well as Edwards brothers Mikey and Jack, were sidelined under the BBL's health and safety protocols, while batsman Dan Hughes was also ruled out of the match with an ankle injury.

Jordan Silk (hamstring), Moises Henriques (calf) and Steve O'Keefe (calf) also suffered injury niggles during the win, leaving the Sixers with a number of concerns ahead of the final against Perth.

In hope of adding some local talent to aid their woes, Christian flagged a call to Twitter for those in Melbourne who would be available for the match, while also having a cheeky dig at Cricket Australia's decision not to allow Steve Smith to feature in their finals campaign.

"Shout out to anyone* in Melbourne that wants a game of cricket tomorrow night," Christain wrote.

"My team is struggling to get 11 covid free, fit players on the park. Warm up starts at 6.30pm at Marvel Stadium.

"Free beer afterwards, potentially out of a large cup.

"DM if keen ... *no test cricketers."

The Sixers are set to remain without Philippe and the Edwards pair, while updates on Henriques, Silk, O'Keefe and Hughes are yet to be released.

Luckily, breakout bowler Hayden Kerr took his chance atop the batting order, recording an unbeaten 98 in a memorable Man of the match performance.

The Scorchers and Sixers are set to clash at Marvel Stadium at 7:40pm AEDT on Friday night.
