Pakistani spinner, Mohammad Nawaz, has been banned by the PCB for two months.

It came after he failed to notify the governing body that he had been approached by a bookmaker.

His ban could be capped at one month if he fulfils certain criteria. He has also been fined approximately A$2,500.

Nawaz refused the bookies offer, however failure to tell the appropriate authorities in time is still a chargeable offence. Considering Pakistan's history with match-fixing, their is little surprise that the PCB handed down a ban.

The incident is said to have occurred during the Pakistan Super League which was played earlier this year. He is not the first player to be investigated from this tournament. Mohammad Irfan has been suspended, while Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Nasir Jamshed, and Shahzaib Hassan are all awaiting possible charges.

Nawaz has played three tests, and nine ODIs for Pakistan. His last test was against the West Indies late last year.

The 23-year old appears to be a promising player for Pakistan, however may have suffered a major set back here.
