Match-winning South African pair Kagiso Rabada and Quinton de Kock have achieved career-high International Cricket Council Test rankings after brilliant performances with the ball and bat during the Proteas' opening Test win against Australia.

Rabada, who's played just nine Tests in his career, has jumped up 10 positions to occupy the 20th spot on the bowling rankings after his seven-wicket haul.

The paceman is the fourth South African bowler to feature inside the top 20 of the current rankings alongside injured start Dale Steyn (2nd), Vernon Philander (11th) and Morne Morkel (13th).

Rabada is still in the qualification period in the rankings system as the 21-year-old is still yet to take the required 100 wickets he needs for a full rating.

Wicketkeeper-batsman de Kock jumped up 11 spots on the table, and now sits in 20th like Rabada.

De Kock joins Hashim Amla (6th) and AB de Villiers (7th) in the top 20, but like Rabada once again, de Kock is still in the qualification period until he completes 40 innings for a full rating.
