Emerging Victorian batsman Will Pucovski remains hopeful of continuing his career despite recently suffering an 11th concussion of his young career.
Pucovski's most recent setback took place earlier this month in a Sheffield Shield match between Victoria and South Australia, with the 24-year-old suffering a head knock in a routine warm-up.
Now facing an uncertain future due to his wellbeing and health, calls have been made for Pucovski to call time on his career after just several years in the professional system.
Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria are set to hold key discussions this week, with Pucovski's health one of many talking points set to take place.
Despite any external noise, Pucovski is looking to persevere through a luckless run of setbacks, with Victoria coach Chris Rogers revealing on SEN that the one-time Australia representative remains hopeful of playing on in the near future.
"There's conversations that are happening in the background," Rogers said.
"Will's indicated that he wants to keep playing, so we just have to weigh up everything that's happening at the moment.
"He's been in and around Junction Oval a few times over the four days of the Shield game (last weekend against Queensland) and he is coming in tomorrow (Thursday).
"We'll have a chat with him then to see how he's going.
"I think he's pretty hopeful, we just have to have those conversations and make sure that everything's okay. I'm sure that that'll play out."
Pucovski has averaged 53.42 with the bat in first-class cricket across 25 matches, managing the seventh half-century of his career prior to his latest head knock.
The Melbourne Cricket Club prodigy scored 62 in his maiden Test innings for Australia in 2021 against India before requiring surgery on a shoulder issue.
Pucovski was present at Victoria's 92-run loss to Queensland in Wednesday's March Cup clash in St Kilda, their second loss in four matches.
