The Melbourne Renegades have revealed a player within their squad has tested positive to COVID-19.
The club confirmed on Wednesday that a single routine rapid antigen test returned a positive reading, with both players and staff now set to undergo PCR testing and training cancelled.
The Renegades are scheduled to face the Brisbane Heat on Thursday night, with the Queensland club having also been placed in a COVID-19 whirlwind.
The Heat were removed from Tuesday night's match against the Sydney Sixers due to a number of players testing positive to the virus, with the Perth Scorchers taking their place.
The Stars have also been heavily impacted by the virus, with their Melbourne counterparts now the latest to be feeling the grip of the pandemic.
"All players and support staff will undertake PCR tests today. The team’s training session for this afternoon has been cancelled as a precaution.
"A further update – and squad announcement for tomorrow night’s clash with the Brisbane Heat – will be provided when available."
The Renegades are also fixtured to face the Thunder on Saturday before their Melbourne Derby clash against the Stars next Thursday.
