The Melbourne Renegades have announced the signing of Adelaide Strikers wicketkeeper-batsman, Tim Ludeman for the 2017/18 Big Bash season.

Ludeman, who finished in the top-10 runs scorers in BBL04 and BBL05, struggled to maintain his spot in the Strikers' side last season, with the Ben Dunk preferred as the No.1 keeper.

He will likely play a key role for the Renegades this season however, with first choice keeper, Matthew Wade, set to miss the majority of the season due to international duty.

The Gades have also confirmed they will play a match for points at Kardinia Park for the first time.

"I’m really pleased to have joined the Renegades and can’t wait for the season to start," Ludeman, who grew up in Victoria, said.

"It’s a great opportunity for the club to go to a new region and give the fans a taste of the BBL and WBBL action live in their backyard."

Current Melbourne Renegades BBL Squad: Dwayne Bravo, Aaron Finch, Marcus Harris, Tim Ludeman, Sunil Narine, James Pattinson, Chris Tremain, Matthew Wade, Cameron White.
