Australian has been hit with a Covid curveball ahead of the first ODI against Pakistan in Lahore.

Dynamic wicketkeeping batsmen Josh Inglis will miss the entire three-match ODI series against Pakistan after returning a positive COVID test.

Former Test opener, now middle-order batsmen Matthew Renshaw, answered the SOS call and flew over to Pakistan.

Renshaw still needs to isolate for three days and will be only available for selection for the third ODI and the one-off T20, which starts on April 6th.

Concerns of Inglis' test result have come after he was seen in close proximity with fellow teammates on Sunday afternoon, with Ashton Agar now reportedly testing positive as well according to Code Sports.

This news comes after his Western Australian teammate and T20 World Cup hero Mitchell Marsh injured his hip flexor.

Marsh suffered the injury in a rigorous fielding exercise on Monday, when he bent down to pick up a ball one-handed.

With Pat Cummins, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Steve Smith, and Glenn Maxwell all set to miss most of the white-ball series, Australia will be fielding an inexperienced side.

The squad now stands at:

Aaron Finch, Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Jason Behrendorff, Alex Carey, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Ben McDermott, Matthew Renshaw, Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Swepson, Adam Zampa.

11018km away from Pakistan in Australia, Victorian opener Marcus Harris has also returned a positive test result, with Victoria's Sheffield Shield final against Western Australia only two days away.

Harris is still on standby if he produces a negative test result by Thursday. The rest of the Victorian squad departs for Western Australia today, with Ashes hero Scott Boland flying back from Pakistan to be a part of the Victorian squad.

Boland, who famously took 18 wickets at 9.55 in the 2021/22 Ashes, has also had a fruitful Sheffield Shield campaign with 21 wickets at 15.66 from only four matches.
