England's Ben Stokes is set to play some part in this summer's Ashes series, with former Australian opener Chris Rogers declaring the allrounder will play in the third Test in Perth.

“I heard he will be coming out," Rogers said speaking on Sportsday Radio.

“I heard he won’t be playing the first two Tests.

“Whether that (one or two Test lay-off) is through suspension or if he still has a bit of an injury, I’m not too sure.

“That’s what I’m hearing and I think we will find out soon won’t we?”

Reports out of the UK have suggested Stokes will learn his fate from Police for punching a man in the early hours of the morning in Bristol last month very shortly.

If he is cleared, he is expected to be flown over to Australia as early as next week. However, the England Cricket Board are yet to determine whether it will hand down a punishment to Stokes over the incident.
