Australia's newest star had to wait years for his Test debut, but with it bringing about a staggering haul of wickets, things are looking up for Scott Boland.

Fresh off the news that he is now being pursued vigorously by County Cricket clubs in England to spend the Australian winter abroad, it has also been revealed that he is in for an enormous pay increase when it comes to Cricket Australia's next list of contracts.

Cricket Australia generally reveals their contract lists in April, and Boland, who is racing to prove his fitness for the fifth and final Test against England in Hobart, and then will push for inclusion against Pakistan when Australia tour the nation for the first time in over a decade during February, is likely to be on it, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The rise to stardom has come rapidly, with Boland displaying strong and consistent Sheffield Shield form over the past three years, but failing to crack the Test team until an injury crisis forced him to debut on Boxing Day.

What followed has been described as one of the best debuts of all-time, with Boland now holding 14 wickets from his two Tests at an average of less than ten.

It's understood Boland is likely to play in Hobart having gotten through a net session on Thursday.

The report suggests Boland's wage could bump up into the high six figures thanks to the new central contract with Cricket Australia, with $800,000 the reported figure for the next 12 months despite the fact he has only played two Tests and wouldn't be in Australia's first-choice attack once veteran Josh Hazlewood recovers from injury - likely for the Pakistan tour.
