Sydney Sixers fast bowler Joe Mennie is recovering from being struck in the head by a ball during training on Monday.

Mennie was bowling in the nets to opener Michael Lumb when he "got hold of one," sending the ball into Mennie's head as he was following through.

Sixers Captain Brad Haddin told Sky Sports Radio it was a nasty incident, but Mennie will be okay.

"It was a bit uncomfortable for a couple of minutes but lucky Joe's all right and he's available for selection," he said.

The fast bowler was taken to hospital to be monitored for concussion and was later released.
