Steve Smith has been overtaken in the latest ICC Test batting rankings.

He has been overtaken by the smallest of margins by South African star AB de Villiers.

Smith fell 20 ranking points after scores of 48 and one in the first Test, while de Villiers moved up 63 rankings points after scores of 63 and 16 in the first test against India, to give him a one point lead over Smith.

Meanwhile, paceman Mitchell Starc has moved up to a career high 13th, after taking six wickets in the first Test against the Black Caps.
